There are many ways to get involved and the success of our program depends on the support of parents and guardians.
Attending our monthly Band Parent Meetings is a great way to better understand the needs of the band and how you can best serve the program. We meet the first Thursday of every month (during the school year) at 6pm in the EHS Band Room.
Additionally, we have an optional Band Parent Team digital group chat on the BAND app, for parents who want to get more involved, where you'll be the first to know of needs that arise.
If you want to help out in a way that involves supervising any band members (football games, field trips, etc.), consider the Chaperone Requirements below.
Chaperone Requirements
In order to Chaperone an event, you have to have Level 2 Security Clearance through the Lake County School Board. If you are a teacher at a Lake County School, you should already have clearance.
Each step does not take much time to complete, but it does take some time between steps, so we recommend starting the process if you are at all interested in chaperoning.
This clearance is good for three years.
How to Apply for Level 2 Clearance
-
Apply on the Lake County Schools Online Volunteer Application Portal
-
Email Mr. Zimmerman (ZimmermanA@lake.k12.fl.us) to let him know that you have applied so he can forward your application to the district office.
-
Download, print, and fill out the FDLE Waiver Form, then return to Mr. Zimmerman
-
Get fingerprinted through the Lake County School Board Office in Tavares (after your application is forwarded to the district office and they receive your FDLE signed waiver, you should receive an email from the LCSB with information on how to make your appointment)
-
Email us at eustisbandvolunteers@gmail.com to let the EHS Band team you have begun the Level 2 Clearance process
