The Eustis High School Band Program is the second oldest band in the State of Florida. It was originally organized in 1925 under the guidance of Boyd Horner as the Eustis Boys Band and was sponsored by the Eustis Rotary Club. The first band director was Captain J.B. O’Neal (a charter member of the Florida Bandmasters Association).

 

The band program was re-organized as the Eustis High School Band in 1938 by Harry L. Parker. The first performance of the group was at the George Washington Festival Parade on February 22, 1938. The Eustis High School Band Program has been an integral part of the community since 1925.

 

Our talented and hard working students have earned an impressive array of awards. Eustis High School Band students have many exciting opportunities to participate in music competitions. Students are also encouraged participate in solo and ensemble assessments as well as audition for membership in County, District, and State Honors Bands.

 

The mission of the Florida Bandmasters Association (FBA) is to promote and support band programs in the state of Florida by providing opportunities for in-service growth, program evaluation, and student performance.  FBA District 19 is comprised of the best student musicians from  Marion, Lake, and Sumter Counties.
